Taylor: All Talk, No Action

Yesterday, Rick Dent sent Cathy Cox a letter that looked like a note kids would pass in Middle School. The letter included this line:

"We only ask that you stop the personal attacks and join us in an honest and thorough debate on the issues. If you really care about the voters of Georgia, you will do just that."

What a hypocrite. A real debate on the issues instead of continuing with advertising that is misleading to voters sounds good to me, but there's just one little problem: Mark Taylor has fled every opportunity to debate Cathy Cox. Georgia Chamber Debate? No Mark Taylor. Georgia Press Association Debate? No Mark Taylor. GMA? No Mark Taylor. If he's so anxious to have an honest and thorough debate on the issues, then why is he ducking every opportunity to do so? Once again, what the Taylor campaign says and what they do are two different things.

No wonder Mark Taylor is hiding from any real debate on the issues. He hides from a record he can’t defend publicly. He hides from voters still trying to decide whom to support. He hides from Cathy Cox.

Who's running for office, Rick Dent or Mark Taylor? I haven't seen Mark Taylor in weeks. All I see is Rick Dent. All I hear from is Rick Dent. All I read about is Rick Dent. Where in the world is Mark Taylor?

The only time we've seen Cathy is when she is refuting something Rick Dent says or calling Mark Taylor a liar! We've seen her have to explain her position on the lottery, explain her position on gay marriage, etc. etc. Give me a break.

Mark already said he would debate at least three times--when the people of Georgia are watching (GPB, WSB, and one other). Of course Cathy wants to debate only in front of insiders like the Press Assoc. or Municipal Assoc. b/c she knows she is the darling of the media, but not the voters. I'm glad Mark is spending his time meeting real voters and raising money so we can beat Sonny in the Fall, instead of wasting time debating Bill Bolton and kissing up to special interest groups!

Cathy wants to debate in front of Terry Toole and Sam Griffin, Jr instead of a tv camera. What a surprise.

"that is misleading to voters"

Umm...let me ask a question. If I were to show a newspaper article about SP or GWB, that had a quote from them in article, provide the whole article, and make it obvious that something was *not* taken out of context, would it be misleading? Or is it only if it is your candidate?

As someone else has said; how many times will CC be misquoted (from direct quotes no less), or have her words "taken out of context" (bear in mind, it has not just been MT who has "taken her quotes out of context")?

Why won't my picture show up I wonder?

It is interesting that the Cathy supporters who used to dominate the blogs seem to have all gone away, sans a few loyal supporters. Makes me wonder if people just see her positions as indefensible, or pandering?

Cox supporters are very busy doing the things that actually help win races. Blogging is not on that list.

Yes, by all means, Taylor folk should keep on blogging. It's the most important thing you could possibly be doing now. Keep up the great work.

REally? 'cos the latest poll numbers don't suggest as much.

Speaking of appearances--if you guys would get off your duffs and take a blogbreak you might see her. She's all over the state on a daily basis. Mark uses excuses like "the real debates are on tv" for not showing up at the Ga Chamber gathering and the same for the Ga Press event last week in Savannah. Just wait until he gets to the televised debates...you know the camera adds like 20 more pounds...oh my God....heads will roll and so will the buckets of sweat-- straight from his Brooks Bros suit! Ugh........

lefttown, mark is all over the state. he just doesn't bother to show up at cathy cox rallies aka press club events. i'm sure you are neither black nor a churchgoer but my guess is more often than not you will find mark pressing the flesh with actual democratic primary voters instead of his old friends that work at newspapers.
