Political season is in full swing in Macon. I know because there is evidence that a certain species of vultures, Candidae Signsrus, that only appear near elections, are migrating, mostly at night.
These scavengers specialize in the placement and dispossession of political signage, and candidates feed them with greenbacks. These birds, once paid, make quite a mess, illegally placing the signs in the right of way, and occasionally actually depositing a sign in a supporter's yard. They are also experts in removing signs from the yards. For example, last night a sign showing support for Larry Schlesinger for City Council disappeared from the yard of a local Reverend just hours after it was placed.
This is nothing new in politics. It wouldn't be campaign season without these birds and their sign games.
